This wasn't even a case of being outgunned.
My forces: ~2500 points of footslogging Sisters (close to 100 models), aside from one mounted character (rides atop a Carnifex, counts as a mounted Slaanesh Champion or a Wolf Lord on Wolf Mount), some assassins, an Inquisitor team in Land Raider Redeemer (with church on top) and a Dread.
Ally: various White Scars Mehrins, mostly fast-attack with a small amount of shooty.
Enemy: a bunch of IG infantry, 3x Griffon Tank, 3x Manticore Ordinance, some Sentinels
Nazi Baby: ~5 Le Mann Russ tanks, including special tank commander that makes them count as Troops and fires at BS 4, and 3 Super Heavy Tanks.
So basically, we had our work cut out for us, as 1,000,000 Sisters can't actually hurt the LMR variants that have Armour 11 as their weakest. Basically, a very small amount of my forces could really hurt the tanks. The rest would just be there to hold objectives and shoot infantry up.
We chose Orbital Bombardment and "One random Superheavy, friend or foe, takes 1d3 Destroyer hits" for strategic assets, they chose Orbital Bombardment and "one destroyed unit gets to come back on."
We went first, and managed to actually take out a number of their LMR tanks, all thanks to Inferno Pistols and Melta Bombs. We also chopped up a platoon of infantry. But their turn hurt us, a lot.
I quickly noticed the problem with the "lol 3x Superheavy" guy. He argued every single point.
"I drive my tank along here to get out of the way."
"You can't go within 2 inches of my troops."
"I don't go within 2 inches."
"No, you can't even pass within 2 inches if you're not Tank Shocking."
"Fine, I go slightly this way" (knocks a troop over with the tank. That's <2 inches)
"That's still under-"
"FINE! I MOVE THE FUCKING SUPERHEAVY 3 INCHES BACK AND MOVE AROUND LIKE THIS! HAPPY? NO WONDER NOBODY GAMES WITH YOU, YOU'RE A RULES NAZI!"
Then "Okay, so that's a Penetrating hit on the Stormlord, so I roll a 3... +1 for AP 1 is 4."
"You don't get +1 for AP1."
"Um, yes you do. That's specifically what it does. It says so in the book."
"Not against Super Heavies, because you roll on the Super Heavy Damage Table, not the Vehicle Damage Table, whereas AP1 weapons only add +1 on the Vehicle Damage Table."
(Store Person referees and says he's being stupid, AP1 works.)
"Fine, whatever."
"Okay, I shoot the Hellhammer."
"You can't see that. There's stuff in the way."
"Dude, true line of sight. You can't see my guy from the vehicle's gun, sure, but come around here, my guy can see the tank."
"No you can't, you can only see a fuel drum."
"And the side of the track-guard, and a turret."
"That's less than 50%, you can't draw line of fire."
"No, less than 50% means you get 4+ cover."
"Bullshit, that's stupid, you can barely see it. It should be 2+ or no LoS!"
"Cover doesn't go to 2+. The rules clearly state it's 4+. They also say if you argue over it it's 5+ but I'll give you 4+."
"Fine, do whatever you FUCKING WANT!"
(Store Person referees and says that's right, it's 4+)
I can't remember what the last straw was, but he finally threw a tantrum, packed up and left. It was comedy gold.

This week *was* good for me. I had Monday off, as I said on page 1. Today, though, a coworker and I were hungry. Then the bosslady said she was, too, so us grunts got to run a few streets over to the pizza place and split the cost of a pizza for us, and pick up a sub sandwich for her.
When we got back, I had a generous impulse and took a plate with a few slices to the security desk and said, "We appreciate your work."
Once work started, one of the guards I'd given the pizza to found me and said if I ever needed anything, he'd look out for me. Apparently, he was hungry and had forgotten his lunch/dinner at home today.
Anyway, nice to know I'm popular with security and I made a day better for a stranger.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Well, it's been a pretty level month for me. No real changes to the routine of working my shift on the help desk and sleeping. Our replacement unit from 3rd ID is in Kuwait, so we're just waiting on them to get shuttled up here to start the relief-in-place.
Reenlisted for 3 years, which ends up about only an extra year and a half, while scoring a $3500 bonus. That got paid Tuesday, so I put it all into the Army's Savings Deposit Program. Got $9600 earning 10% interest quarterly. I figure that's better than anything else on the market for now. And the three year contract will give my wife enough time to finish her masters if we decide the military isn't for us.
So I'm looking forward to a month's vacation over Dec-Jan, and then taking advantage of the unit's school option to go to college for a semester. I hope to knock out half of a two-year network admin degree. Going to get a Jetta TDI when I get back, and I have the money to buy it outright if I can't get approved for a loan. Which I should considering I have an 800 range credit score.
Yeah, I feel pretty good about my life right now, even with the whole slave-to-the-US-government thing.

I’ve been on the kiddy roller coaster ride all week. I don’t want to call it a real roller coaster but it’s been on the edge of downright annoying.
Last weekend I learned that the former treasurer and now chairwoman of the local Republican Party committee was fired from her job because some controversy when a member of the committee leaked an inspirational email she sent to the Democrats and a very pro Democrat radio station. She’s a single mom working a relatively low paying job with a very active son. Fortunately, she managed to get her job bank and gave us the good news on Election Night.
Yesterday, someone crashed into the passenger side of my Mother’s car. She is fine; the door, on the other hand is dented and cut badly. Her calling the insurance company twice to confirm things led her to a sloppy receptionist on the second call and her having to do most of the work that they should have done in the first place.
Today I’m taking my Father and Mother almost all the way to the eastern edge of Long Island (East Hampton) for a “Pow Wow” from a social organization originally called the “lost” tribe of Accabonac. (It’s really for those who attended public school in East Hampton and not related to the actual Indian tribe over in Southampton.)
That doesn’t count the actual election (where I had to collect the results from one of the polls, not a hard thing but this was my first time and one is always nervous doing something important for the first time), the novel writing and my crappy bowling score yesterday. (Really, I should give up bowling and take up the discus; that’s how badly my swing curves both on the back side and the front side when I’m not paying strict attention.)
